Dark glamour

Situated on a private road in a Harpenden village within Metropolitan Green Belt with stunning views, this 1950s detached house had been unsympathetically extended several times. The project included: complete internal refurbishment; split-level, open-plan garden extension; side extension; loft conversion; guest annexe; and updated external materials.

Signature generous entrance hall with feature illuminated floating stair, black steel doors to open-plan kitchen and dining with integral bar and split-level seating area. Kitchen units in black with contrasting oak elements to match herringbone floor. Connectivity with outdoor living area maximised with floor to ceiling slim-frame sliding glazing.

New palette of external materials included: Shou Sugi Ban charred wood cladding; Dreadnought clay roof tiles; K Render in black and Limestone White; patio in Millboard Basalt.
